Key Insights on Ukrainian Public Trust in Zelensky Based on Recent Surveys

Chas Pravdy - 13 October 2025 11:30

According to comprehensive research conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, nearly 60% of Ukrainian citizens have once again expressed their trust in President Volodymyr Zelensky.

This data indicates that support for the head of state has stabilized after a period of decline observed earlier this year during spring and summer months.

The survey, carried out in late September and early October, revealed that over 60% of respondents either ‘completely trust’ or ‘tend to trust’ Zelensky, whereas fewer than 35% reported ‘tend to distrust’ or ‘completely distrust’ him.

Notably, this level of trust remains virtually unchanged compared to mid-September, when trust was at 59%, and distrust at 34%.

The trust-distrust balance remained positive at +25%.

Compared to May, when trust peaked at 74% before gradually decreasing to 58% in August, current figures demonstrate stabilization.

Nonetheless, it’s important to recognize that trust levels are still lower than those in May, but they hold the potential for growth depending on socio-political developments.

The survey involved 1008 respondents aged 18 and older, utilizing telephone interviews based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers from all regions under government control.

Conducted from September 19 to October 5, the statistical margin of error is within 4.1%.

Despite ongoing war conditions and potential systematic deviations, experts consider these results to offer a highly representative glimpse into public sentiment now and moving forward.
