Zelensky Implements New Sanctions Against Russian and International Companies Supporting Russia’s War Machine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has officially signed a decree aimed at strengthening economic restrictions against individuals and entities that provide financial and material-technical support to Russia in its military aggression.
This includes leaders and companies supplying weapons, critical components, and equipment to Russia.
Zelensky announced that these measures are a response to Russia’s ongoing military buildup, and Ukraine, together with its international partners, is actively working to impose sanction packages that limit Russia’s ability to wage war.
Notably, the president highlighted that today’s decree synchronizes sanctions with similar measures introduced by Japan, the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.
Currently, over 900 individuals and companies are blacklisted, including leaders and representatives from Russia, North Korea, and firms from China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and other countries.
The sanctions list encompasses 281 individuals and 633 legal entities.
The decree has already been published on the official presidential website and has come into force, following the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on October 11.
Among those sanctioned are seven Russian citizens, one North Korean national, and several companies from China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and the Seychelles.
