Melania Trump Opens Direct Communication Channel with Putin Regarding Ukrainian Children
Former First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, has made an unexpected statement announcing the establishment of an open and direct communication channel with Russian President Vladimir Putin concerning the issue of deported Ukrainian children.
According to her, she managed to obtain a written response from the Russian leader to her appeal, which addressed the fate of Ukrainian children who were taken out of Ukraine and are now in Russia.
She emphasized that, since then, she has maintained an ongoing dialogue with Putin, allowing her to discuss matters concerning the children’s well-being and safety.
During a speech at the White House, she revealed that as a result of these negotiations, Russia expressed readiness to cooperate and exchange information on the deported children, with several already reunited with their families.
Over the past three months, efforts have led to the return of several children to their families, some of whom were separated due to fighting and displacement, while others were moved to Russia for safety reasons.
Melania Trump highlighted that her representative is actively working with Putin’s team to facilitate family reunifications, with eight children already rejoined with relatives.
She also noted the case of a young girl who was reunited with her family in Russia, along with other children separated for long periods during the conflict.
She stressed that Russia has shown a willingness and readiness to provide detailed and objective information about the situation of the deported Ukrainian children, which is regarded as a significant step towards resolving this crisis.
Moreover, she recalled that her husband, Donald Trump, personally handed over a letter to Putin during their meeting in Alaska, addressing the children’s circumstances and humanitarian issues related to the conflict.
Melania continues to inform Trump about the situation in Ukraine and maintains contacts to prevent further human tragedies.
