How to Apply for Basic Social Assistance via «Diia» App: Step-by-Step Guide
In Ukraine, a new form of state support has been introduced for the most vulnerable segments of the population — basic social assistance aimed at helping families and individuals facing difficult life circumstances.
Since August 2023, citizens have the opportunity to apply for this benefit through the popular mobile application «Diia».
To take advantage of this service, users must follow several simple steps.
First, they need to update the app to the latest version and authorize themselves.
Next, go to the «Services» section, select «State Assistance», and then «Basic Social Assistance».
There, you should click «Get Assistance» and wait for an automatic notification with the estimated monthly amount you can receive.
If you agree with the amount, press «Submit Application» and select «Diia.Card» for payouts.
The subsequent steps involve verifying the information and confirming the rejection of other types of aid, as they will be consolidated into one payment.
The next step is to sign the application within the «Diia» app.
Afterward, you need to invite signatures from other adult family members, and the application will be sent automatically.
Once reviewed and approved, you will receive a notification about the start of payments, which will be made monthly.
It is important to note that this assistance is available for families receiving low-income support or single parents with children.
Additionally, families receiving temporary child support payments can also qualify if the other parent does not pay alimony.
The payment is granted for up to six months, significantly enhancing social protection for the most vulnerable groups in Ukraine.
This step marks a significant move toward digital transformation of social protection systems and increasing access to government aid for every citizen in need.
