Trump Assures Finland of Defense Against Russia, While Doubting an Attack by Putin

Former US President Donald Trump expressed his confidence that the United States is prepared to defend Finland in the event of an attack by Russia.

During a recent press conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, Trump responded to a journalist’s question about the potential threat of Russian aggression and Vladimir Putin’s intentions.

He stated that he does not foresee such an attack happening but confirmed that in case of a real threat, the US would stand ready to support Finland as a NATO member.

Trump emphasized that Russia is unlikely to launch an open invasion, but pointed out that Finland possesses a very strong military, one of the most powerful in the world.

‘Of course, we will be there to help if something occurs,’ he assured.
