Zaluzhny Denies Rumors of Political Party Formation During the War

Chas Pravdy - 08 October 2025 20:25

Valeriy Zaluzhny, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and now Ukraine’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, officially clarified via his Telegram channel that he has no plans or intentions to establish any political structures during the ongoing war and the country’s stabilization period.

He emphasized that he is not forming any headquarters or parties and categorically dismisses any connections with political forces, citing that holding transparent and legitimate elections during active hostilities is impossible.

‘My firm position is that until the war in Ukraine concludes, political activity and elections should remain out of sight,’ Zaluzhny stated.

He also highlighted issues related to information policy and criticized Ukrainian media for sometimes spreading unverified information alongside Russian propaganda, which could exacerbate disinformation.

The military leader pointed out that due to poor quality and delays in the communication exchange with space-based systems, Ukraine has not fully utilized the capabilities of modern systems like HIMARS, which are crucial for national defense.
