Ukrainian Parliament Fails to Appoint New Constitutional Court Judges: Political Battles Continue

Chas Pravdy - 08 October 2025 14:17

On Wednesday, October 8, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine once again faced an unsuccessful attempt to reform the Constitutional Court.

During the plenary session, a vote was held to appoint four candidates as new judges of the Constitutional Court, but none of the candidates received the required number of votes.

This setback delays the renewal process of the court and prolongs political debates and accusations.

Additionally, it is reported that the vote for the new court chairman also failed, with no date set for the next ballot.

This situation increases tension within Ukraine’s political system and raises concerns about the future development of the constitutional process.
