Ukrainian government streamlines online divorce process through the «Diia» app
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a new procedure allowing citizens to obtain a divorce quickly and conveniently online via the popular mobile application «Diia».
This step represents a significant reform in administrative services, aimed at simplifying bureaucratic processes and making them more accessible and efficient for ordinary citizens.
According to the new rules, the divorce process will become faster and more accessible, especially for families without minor children.
Under the decision, spouses without children under 18 can submit a divorce application through the «Diia» app, after which the system will automatically verify the absence of restrictions and relevant records in the Civil Status Acts Register of Ukraine (DRAZ).
If there are no children involved, the marriage will be dissolved within one month of the application submission, and the applicant will have the option to withdraw the application before the divorce is finalized.
This innovative approach greatly simplifies life for Ukrainians, as the previous procedure required visiting the registry office, completing paper documents, and waiting for approval.
Now, divorce can be processed quickly and conveniently online, eliminating queues and unnecessary travel.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation plans to expand this service further, making it available to all categories of citizens and introducing new digital tools to streamline administrative procedures.
