New Diplomatic Talks Between Israel and Russia: Discussions Amid Regional Power Struggles
Recently, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin engaged in another telephone conversation, focusing on current developments in the Middle East and the prospects for strengthening bilateral relations.
According to official Kremlin sources, the leaders discussed the situation in the East Bank, including U.S.
plans for stabilizing Gaza.
During the conversation, both leaders exchanged greetings for significant dates: the Israeli Prime Minister congratulated Putin on his birthday and sent sincere wishes, while Putin responded with greetings for the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.
These diplomatic exchanges occur amid Israel’s efforts to maintain and even deepen ties with Russia, despite external and internal challenges, including Ukraine’s increasingly close cooperation with Western countries.
Previously, diplomatic circles noted that Israel aims to balance its strategic interests while supporting traditional alliances, especially with Russia, amidst rising regional tensions.
