Maya Sandu Declares Victory of Pro-European Forces in Moldovan Elections: A Step Toward Stability and Democracy
Moldovan President Maya Sandu warmly congratulated the recent parliamentary election results, emphasizing that these outcomes represent a significant achievement not only for her political party but for the entire Moldovan society and state as a whole.
According to her statements, the affirmation of Moldova’s European choice was demonstrated by the more than 50% of votes secured by the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), which currently leads the country.
Sandu highlighted that this victory is not merely a win for a specific political entity but a symbol of national unity around democratic values and aspirations for closer integration with the European Union.
She expressed confidence that this result will firmly entrench Moldova’s European trajectory and foster further development within a stable and democratic global community.
At the same time, politicians noted that the election campaign was highly intense, with a pro-Russian bloc securing second place, raising concerns about internal stability and possible external destabilization influences.
Officials reported that efforts to destabilize the electoral process included bomb threats at overseas polling stations and information warfare via social media platforms.
Importantly, this election victory opens a new chapter for Moldova— a nation committed to democratic progress and European integration despite external pressures and internal political tensions.
