Zelensky hints at possible strike on the Kremlin amid escalation fears
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky openly declared that Kyiv is considering options to respond to potential escalation from Russia, including the possibility of striking central Russian government buildings such as the Kremlin.
In an interview with the American news outlet Axios, he emphasized that Ukraine seeks to maintain its humanity and does not target civilian populations in neighboring Russia, as Ukraine is not a terrorist organization.
At the same time, he warned Moscow that if it continues its aggression, Ukraine is prepared to respond in defense of its territory and citizens.
Zelensky highlighted that Ukrainian military and intelligence services monitor the situation daily and do not rule out new tactical measures in case of further escalation.
The President stressed that Kremlin officials should remember that Ukraine has the capacity to take necessary actions to protect its independence and territorial integrity.
Thus, Kyiv is hinting that if Russia further escalates, serious measures, including targeted strikes on strategic objects within Russia, could be imminent.
