NATO Secretary General Confirms Continuous U.S. Arms Supplies to Ukraine Supported by Allies
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg recently highlighted the alliance’s ongoing support for Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict with Russia.
In an interview with Fox News, he stated that the United States continues to deliver weapons and military equipment to Ukraine on a regular basis, financed by NATO allies’ contributions.
Over two billion dollars have already been allocated in aid packages for Ukraine, with additional packages currently under review by international structures.
Stoltenberg emphasized that this strategy aims to establish a steady flow of American weaponry, paid for by NATO members, to strengthen Ukraine’s defenses and exert pressure on Russia to cease its aggression.
He also pointed out that discussions within NATO regarding responses to Russian provocations in the airspace are intensifying.
Furthermore, he noted that Russia’s losses over a month of war are roughly equivalent to the losses the USSR sustained over ten years of the Afghanistan conflict.
It’s worth mentioning that Ukraine receives weapons through the PURL initiative (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List), a joint program between the US and NATO designed to expedite the supply of critical military equipment.
Under this program, Ukraine identifies its highest-priority needs, while allies fund procurement of the necessary weapons, which are then purchased in the US and delivered through a dedicated NATO account.
