Zelensky anticipates global consequences following Russian drone attack on Poland
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his evening address on June 16, emphasized the importance of the international community’s response after a Russian drone intruded into Polish airspace.
According to Zelensky, such incidents serve as a stark reminder to the global community about the seriousness of Russian aggression and the need to support Ukraine in its fight for security and territorial integrity.
He pointed out that Russia continues daily acts of terror and, despite numerous attempts by international platforms, to end the war, aggression persists.
Zelensky highlighted that the United States and President Trump proposed concrete measures to cease attacks and initiate peace talks, yet these calls have yet to be adequately addressed by Russia.
The Ukrainian leader expressed confidence that Putin’s goal is to inflict harm and expand the conflict, and assured that Ukraine will do everything to defend its sovereignty.
He urged world leaders to draw appropriate conclusions, especially after the incident in Poland, which is critically important for the security of all Europe.
Zelensky called on the European Union and the international community to recognize that Russia’s aggression threatens not just individual neighbors but the entire continent’s security, and he warned that failure to respond decisively could lead to devastating consequences.
The president emphasized the necessity for united efforts to counter Russia’s aggression and prevent further escalation, stressing that the international community must act promptly to protect democratic values and peace.
