The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine officially confirmed that President Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to visit New York next week, where he will lead the Ukrainian delegation at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

This announcement comes ahead of major diplomatic events in the world’s diplomatic hub, opening broad opportunities for both formal and informal meetings among world leaders.

MFA spokesperson Georgiy Tykhyi reported that Kyiv had received a signal from US Secretary of State Mark Rubeo about a possible meeting between Ukrainian and American presidents during the General Assembly.

According to him, Ukraine is interested in such a meeting and is actively conducting diplomatic efforts to facilitate it.

President Zelensky, in his recent remarks, highlighted that high-level presence at the UN could create opportunities for crucial negotiations with leaders of other countries, including the United States.

In addition to discussions with American counterparts, plans include a dense diplomatic schedule involving contacts with officials from other nations.

Zelensky previously stated that former US President Donald Trump intends to visit Europe in the third week of September 2025, which could boost diplomatic activities around this period.

Ukraine aims to make this diplomatic week a significant milestone in its foreign relations, hoping that the meetings will serve as a catalyst for new initiatives and collaborations.

Zelensky’s diplomatic team is committed to ensuring a busy and fruitful UN session, further strengthening Ukraine’s international support and advancing its foreign policy goals.
