Zelensky Confronts Kremlin: Putin Seeks Deception and Exit from Political Isolation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a bold statement during an interview with Sky News, highlighting that Vladimir Putin is intensifying efforts to overcome his political isolation and find new avenues to restore Russia’s standing on the international stage.
Zelensky observed that Moscow intends to deceive the United States, particularly President Donald Trump, in order to delay the implementation of new sanctions against Russia.
He also pointed out that the August summit in Alaska, where US and Russian leaders met, was a setback for Putin and unlikely to significantly alter the situation.
Additionally, Zelensky emphasized that Putin is actively trying to break free from diplomatic confinement by employing manipulation tactics masked by dialogues with the West.
The Ukrainian leader strongly believes that force is necessary and that weakness only encourages the aggressor.
He urges European countries and the US to demonstrate unity and respond swiftly and decisively, because in wartime, wavering words mean more room for manipulation.
Zelensky concluded that fighting with words alone will not stop the war—only tangible actions and strength can prevail.
The president calls for international solidarity to show Putin that conflicts cannot be resolved through diplomacy alone, but require power capable of halting aggression.
