Polish Prime Minister Tusk sharply responds to accusations regarding the destruction of a house near Lublin, emphasizing Russia’s provocative role
Amid recent events where a private residential house in Wyrki was damaged during an attack by Russian drones, President Karol Nawarecki demanded explanations from the government.
However, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk took a firm stance, stating that responsibility for the damage lies solely with Russia, which orchestrates and participates in drone provocations.
According to Tusk, the full accountability for the destruction in Wyrki falls on the aggressor country, and relevant authorities will inform the public, government, and president once the investigation concludes.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other agencies are conducting investigations and emphasize that the blame rests on Russia, which tries to drag Poland into conflict through drone provocations.
Radislav Sikorski publicly commented that the Russian action is primarily an attempt to shift responsibility away from itself.
Following media reports that the damage resulted from a missile launched by an F-16 fighter jet rather than a drone, Nawarecki demanded clarification from authorities.
The Polish Ministry of Defense assured that investigations are ongoing, and all details will be disclosed, affirming that Russia is responsible for the attack.
This incident is the only case of damage among some twenty drones recorded during Russia’s first large-scale drone invasion on September 10, with fragments found in different regions, some flying nearly 300 km from Ukraine’s eastern border.
Overall, the situation highlights new challenges for Poland and NATO, as the Russian drone attack signals increased tension in the region and security concerns.
The extent to which such provocations will influence further strengthening of defense measures and security policies in Europe is currently being assessed by experts and military analysts.
