US Republican expresses concern over Putin’s provocations against NATO

In the American political arena, voices have once again risen calling for more decisive actions in response to Kremlin’s aggressive maneuvers.

Congressman from Arkansas, Republican Rick Crawford, openly expresses concern regarding recent moves by Russian President Vladimir Putin, claiming they are designed to provoke NATO.

In a recent interview, Crawford emphasized that Russia is signaling its intentions by pushing the envelope, possibly aiming to trigger NATO’s Article 5 response.

“We are observing potential invasions into Poland and Romania,” he said.

“Putin is deliberately poking NATO in the eye, trying to provoke a response.

However, this approach could threaten his own position.” The politician stressed that this situation should serve as a wake-up call for the European Union and other partners to reconsider and tighten sanctions against Russia, especially by halting the purchase of Russian oil.

Crawford added, “We need to force Putin to kneel — stronger action is necessary.” On September 10, Poland invoked Article 4 of the NATO Treaty after Russian drones unlawfully entered Polish airspace and were shot down.

The incident raised serious concerns among NATO allies about regional security.

Although NATO does not currently consider these drone incursions an act of attack, the situation remains tense.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk noted that around 19 drones were detected in Poland on September 10, some of which originated from Belarus, marking the first time such crossings have occurred.

Experts warn that Russia’s strategy involves hidden objectives, aiming to intensify pressure on Ukraine and Europe.
