Graham Warns: Sanctions Against Russia Have Failed, Moscow Has Learned How to Circumvent Them
Renowned Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has openly stated that the sanctions imposed on Russia over the past years are gradually losing their effectiveness.
According to the politician, Moscow has mastered the art of circumventing international economic restrictions, finding ways to evade their impact.
This has prompted legislators to develop new mechanisms, including a fresh sanctions bill that aims to impose additional constraints on countries still purchasing Russian resources, particularly oil.
The senator emphasized that today’s interconnected world requires unified efforts and called on European nations to join the United States in combating sanctions circumvention, especially regarding India and China, which are actively engaged with Russia.
He also stressed that the US should enforce stricter measures against these countries and work towards a coordinated approach to address the international challenges posed by Kremlin’s policies.
Previously, President Donald Trump imposed tariffs of 25% on Indian goods following New Delhi’s purchase of Russian oil, and Graham suggests that it is now time to apply similar sanctions to China and other nations to force them to reduce their cooperation with Russia.
