Russian Propaganda Seeks to Discredit Ukraine’s Security Guarantees and Destabilize International Dialogue

Chas Pravdy - 13 September 2025 02:24

Moscow has intensified its efforts to spread disinformation and false narratives aimed at undermining the security guarantees provided to Ukraine within international agreements.

According to the latest reports from the Center for Counteracting Disinformation, pro-Russian sources are deliberately disseminating false information, implying that Ukrainians are fearing a full-scale occupation if deterrent forces are deployed.

These disinformation outlets claim that both civilians and military personnel in Ukraine are allegedly worried that the deployment of allied troops would mark the beginning of an actual invasion of the country.

However, there is no evidence or credible proof supporting these assertions.

The Center emphasizes that such messages are designed to sow distrust among allies, aiming to sabotage the existing security agreements and disrupt diplomatic efforts to end the war.

Additionally, Russia amplifies its informational campaigns in the United States and Poland, intensifying rhetoric and spreading fake news to incite tensions and destabilize the region further.

Previously, the head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation, Andriy Kovalенко, warned that following the killing of a US presidential ally and the violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones, Moscow significantly escalated its disinformation operations targeting the US and Poland.

In summary, Russian propagandists are actively working to discredit Ukrainian achievements and heighten international instability by disseminating unsubstantiated claims and distorted information, which could undermine diplomatic negotiations and international security agreements.
