US Names Suspect in the Murder of Conservative Activist Charlie Kirk: Details, Arrest, and Political Impact
The news of the death of one of the most prominent figures in the American conservative movement — Charlie Kirk — sparked widespread reactions across U.S.
political and media circles.
Official sources confirmed that the suspect in his tragic death was apprehended thirty-three hours after the attack.
According to information published by the New York Post, the suspect is a 22-year-old student from Utah — Tyler Robinson.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox announced his arrest, stating that Robinson confessed to the crime or signaled his involvement.
The accused faces charges of intentional homicide with aggravating circumstances.
During his detention, Robinson was found dressed in clothing matching the shooter’s description — jeans, a black shirt, and a vest — and was in possession of a Dodge Challenger, similar to the vehicle used in the attack.
It is known that Robinson stored a rifle wrapped in a towel near the scene, and his bullets bore insulting and derogatory inscriptions such as “Hey Fash! Catch!” and “If you’re reading this — you’re gay.” One of his bullets even contained the phrase “bella ciao,” a symbol of resistance.
According to investigation, Robinson was a student living with his parents in Washington, Utah, approximately 250 miles from the crime scene.
His mother previously posted pictures of him online, calling him a “genius” after college admission, and showed images with military weapons, including a grenade launcher.
Authorities believe the young man acted alone, firing from an elevated position at a distance of about 200 yards.
He has been charged with premeditated murder with aggravating circumstances.
Meanwhile, in the U.S., the incident involving an attempted attack on Trump associate Charles Kirk — who later died in hospital — has also garnered attention.
Kirk was a well-known conservative activist, publicist, and co-founder of the organization Turning Point USA, which has become one of the largest youth movements supporting conservative ideas nationally.
Over the years, Kirk established himself as a fierce critic of both the left and some members of his own party, if they betrayed their voters.
His activities were controversial: he was accused of spreading conspiracy theories, conflicts with Republican leaders, and opaque financing of his movement.
Kirk openly opposed U.S.
military assistance to Ukraine and criticized Zelensky, blaming him for the ongoing conflict, while revealing a clear dislike for Russia.
Trump considered him a key ally, making the incident highly significant within the American political landscape.
