Zelensky Reveals Details of Meeting with Kellogg: Security, Diplomacy, and Support for Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky detailed his recent meeting in Kyiv with U.S.
President’s special envoy, General Kellogg.
According to Zelensky, the negotiations took place in a constructive environment, focusing mainly on issues of national security, pathways toward a just peace, and strengthening bilateral ties between Ukraine and the United States.
Special emphasis was placed on the PURL initiative, which aims to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities through funding for the production and procurement of advanced Patriot missile systems, as well as exploring bilateral agreements for joint production of drones and weaponry.
Zelensky also discussed tools to exert pressure on Russia and ensure international support for Ukraine, including sanctions and diplomatic measures.
The Ukrainian leader expressed hope for a positive response from Washington on these initiatives and highlighted the importance of trilateral meetings to facilitate tangible progress.
The conversation also covered the urgent issue of returning Ukrainian children deported from occupied territories and strengthening international cooperation in this area.
Zelensky stressed that ensuring security and the safe return of Ukrainian citizens are top priorities for the government.
Additionally, he expressed condolences to the American people over the murder of Charlie Kirk, and thanked Donald Trump for his reaction to the tragic death of Ukrainian Iryna Zarutska in North Carolina.
The upcoming 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York was also discussed, including coordinating Ukraine-U.S.
positions and possible formats of meetings within the ‘coalition of willing’ to consolidate international support for Ukraine during this critical time.
