Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry Responds to Slovak Statements on Drones: Call for Diplomacy and United Action Against Aggression

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has issued an official response to the controversial statements made by Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár, who recently made cynical remarks regarding the incident with drones that entered Polish airspace.

In his comments, he expressed hope that these unmanned aerial vehicles were not targeted at Poland but were intended for Ukraine.

Kyiv’s response emphasizes that attacks involving Russia and its allies are clear signs of a large-scale aggression that must be countered collectively.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geghory Tikhy highlighted that the volume of Russian drones crossing into neighboring countries’ airspace is not accidental, but a deliberate escalation by Moscow.

He called on Slovakia and other European nations not to dismiss the reality and to hold Russia accountable, urging the international community to unite in combating the aggressor.

Tikhy stressed that current circumstances demand actions beyond mere words: strengthening sanctions, applying financial pressure, and enhancing aerial defenses to protect Ukraine and its neighbors.

No country in Europe should ignore the threats emanating from Russia, he added, warning that shirking responsibility increases regional danger.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky additionally noted that the flight paths of Russian drones into Poland suggest a coordinated, premeditated operation, akin to rehearsals for larger-scale aggression, possibly even on the scale of the Crimean invasion.

He warned that Moscow is systematically testing the responses of its partners and preparing for new provocations, making it crucial for the world to stay vigilant and act decisively.
