Sikorski accuses Russia of deliberate attacks on Poland: Kremlin tries to hide its involvement
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski explicitly claimed that Russia deliberately launched an aggressive act against Polish territory, aimed at destabilizing the region and fueling conflict with the West.
According to him, these actions are premeditated and planned, not accidental or spontaneous, as evidenced by the fact that on Saturday night, Polish airspace was violated 19 times by Russian-made drones.
The minister emphasized that Poland’s and NATO’s armed forces operated in accordance with standard protocols, aiming to monitor and counter these provocations. In diplomatic efforts, Sikorski has already held phone conversations with key international diplomats: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, and OSCE Chair Elina Warto.
They discussed the situation and called for unity and decisive actions in response to these provocations.Meanwhile, the Kremlin attempts to justify its actions and denies involvement in the attack.
Russian officials propagate claims of a Ukrainian provocation, hinting that these actions could be the result of internal Ukrainian conflicts or provocations.
Such statements starkly contrast with the reality and intensify theories about Russian provocation. The Polish government spokesperson unequivocally dismissed these theories, emphasizing that all evidence points to Russia’s direct involvement and responsibility for violations of Polish airspace.
Sikorski underscored that Poland, the EU, and NATO remain resolute in their efforts to support Ukraine and oppose Russian aggression. This incident marks the most serious breach of EU airspace by Russia in recent years and could have significant implications for European security.
Following the attack, NATO invoked Article 4 of its treaty, signifying consultations and enhanced defensive measures.
This further highlights the ongoing escalation of tensions between the West and Moscow, underlining the need for increased cooperation to ensure regional security.
