Poland Closes Rzeszów Airport Amid Russian Drone Incursions

Chas Pravdy - 10 September 2025 02:19

Following recent incidents where multiple Russian drones infiltrated Polish airspace from Ukrainian territory, Polish authorities made the decision to temporarily close Rzeszów Airport.

This measure aims to respond to growing military threats and ensure the safety of air traffic in the region.

According to the Polish Civil Aviation Authority, the restrictions are in effect from 23:05 to 7:00 Kyiv time — a window during which drone activity is at its peak.

The closures are part of broader security concerns, as monitoring services report increased likelihood of drone attacks in cities such as Chełm, Zamość, Lublin, and Rzeszów.

Meanwhile, flight tracking services like Flightradar confirmed the presence of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles in Polish airspace, raising alarms among aviation officials and highlighting the ongoing escalation of military tensions.

This situation exemplifies the intensifying conflict that poses significant risks to regional stability and civilian safety.
