Head of NABU Denies Political Pressure and Confirms No Inter-agency Conflicts
Semen Kryvolos, the director of Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), has publicly dismissed rumors suggesting a conflict between his agency and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

Kryvolos emphasized that he has not heard Khрistenko’s name within the bureau’s walls, and the issue of alleged influence is currently under an internal investigation initiated based on an SBU statement. He stated that if any criminal conduct by NABU officers is uncovered, they will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate legal decisions will be made accordingly.
Kryvolos also clarified that the bureau obtained the necessary authorization from the SBU to disclose the results of its investigative findings publicly.Regarding the relationship between NABU and SBU, he assured that there are no conflicts or hostilities.
The interaction between the agencies, including with SBU head Vasyl Maliuk, remains professional and constructive.
He rejected any claims of a ‘war’ or confrontation between the two agencies as false and unsubstantiated.Overall, Kryvolos highlighted that ongoing investigations and cooperation are driven by professionalism and adherence to law, without any political pressure or personal interests influencing their work.
He called on the public to trust official statements and avoid panic driven by unfounded rumors circulating in the media concerning the work of NABU and its personnel.
