Support for Sovereignty and Strategic Partnership: New Perspectives in DPRK–China Relations
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un recently reaffirmed to his Chinese counterparts during a significant diplomatic meeting that his country remains committed to defending China’s interests concerning sovereignty, territorial integrity, and energy independence.
According to KCNA, he assured that the friendly ties between the two nations remain unbreakable despite the complexities of the current global geopolitical landscape, which challenges existing world balances of power.
The Beijing summit served as a testament to deepening strategic alliance and increased mutual trust, emphasizing closer cooperation in international affairs, economics, and security.
Chinese officials, including senior officials and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, highlighted that China and North Korea are no longer just neighbors but partners united in shaping a new world order that does not prioritize dominance by a single country.
Kim’s visit to China on September 4 symbolized strengthening political trust and strategic bonds, which KCNA described as surpassing all trials and challenges.
At the Chinese border, senior Chinese representatives greeted Kim, reaffirming the importance of bilateral relations in today’s world.
