Zelensky proposes a unique ‘special format’ with Trump to ensure Ukraine’s airspace security
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, on the eve of the ‘Decisive Coalition’ summit in Paris, expressed an innovative idea to establish a new cooperation format with the United States regarding the security of Ukrainian skies.
During a meeting with Donald Trump and other world leaders, he suggested introducing what is called a ‘special format’ aimed at protecting Ukrainian airspace, involving coordinated actions and potential military or diplomatic scenarios designed to enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
This move marks a significant step towards strengthening effective defense tools and security guarantees, especially as Ukraine’s airspace continues to face violations from Russia, making its protection an urgent matter.
Zelensky emphasized that, while diplomatic efforts focus on achieving sustainable peace, immediate protection of Ukraine’s skies is critical for national security and the safety of its citizens.
He also mentioned that discussions included increasing pressure on Russia through economic and sanctions measures to halt its aggression and restore diplomatic peace talks.
