Great Britain Studies Lessons from Ukraine War and Strengthens Its Support
UK Defense Minister Ben Wallace, during his official visit to Kyiv, issued an important statement regarding the country’s strategic approach to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
He emphasized that British military and strategic experts are actively analyzing the current war experience to incorporate its lessons into future defense plans.
Wallace added that Ukraine demonstrates significant expertise in utilizing modern technology and weapons, which should be accessible not only to Ukraine but also to other countries to enhance their defense capabilities.
During a press conference in Kyiv, he noted that the UK’s current focus is on providing Ukraine with air defense systems and making Ukrainian weapon systems more accessible to allies.
Wallace also said that the UK is helping Ukraine and learning from its experiences, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive defense review that highlights the need for a more serious attitude toward national security — especially in protecting the skies.
He stressed that a secure Europe is impossible without a strong and resilient Ukraine.
During his visit, Wallace inspected a site hit by Russian shelling, witnessing the damage firsthand, which underscores the importance of continued support for Ukraine.
Moreover, he announced that the UK plans to reform its armed forces to operate at a «war-time pace» and is prepared to deploy troops in Ukraine if an agreement is reached.
Wallace highlighted that the UK’s role is to stand alongside Ukraine both on the battlefield and in diplomatic negotiations, aiming to ensure regional stability and peace, proud of its contribution to this global effort.
