South Korea releases new estimates on North Korean military casualties in Ukraine conflict
South Korea’s intelligence agency has made a startling and concerning revelation, estimating that approximately two thousand North Korean soldiers sent to support Russia’s war effort against Ukraine have already been killed.
According to official reports, these casualties were recorded during the initial two phases of military deployment, and the total number could potentially rise to three thousand, as Seoul prepares for possible further mobilization from Pyongyang.
Since October of last year, North Korea has reportedly dispatched around 13,000 military personnel to Russia and supplied weapons to support the ongoing conflict.
Additionally, North Korea plans to send another approximately six thousand troops in the third wave of military aid to Moscow, as part of its strategy to bolster Russia’s efforts against Ukraine.
Authorities also highlight that all deployed North Korean forces are currently positioned in rear areas as reserve units.
