Fico announces intentions to pass key messages to Zelensky after meeting with Putin in China
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has openly revealed that during his recent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, held amidst an international conference in China, he received several crucial signals and thoughts relevant to Ukraine, which he plans to pass on to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In a Facebook post, Fico shared that his discussion with the Russian leader lasted approximately an hour and focused mainly on Russia’s war against Ukraine.
According to him, Putin informed him about negotiations with U.S.
President Donald Trump that took place in Alaska, as well as expressed cautious optimism about possible prospects for ending the ongoing conflict and finding pathways toward peace.
Fico emphasized that these messages are of particular importance to him, and he intends to convey them to the Ukrainian leadership this coming Friday during his meeting with Zelensky.
Additionally, he believes that following this meeting, he will receive numerous calls and consultations from leaders of other European countries, which could influence future policy directions regarding Ukraine.
Notably, during the same conference in China, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Serbian leader Aleksandar Vučić also held meetings with Putin, highlighting a global diplomatic effort to address current challenges and the conflict in Ukraine.
