President Donald Trump has outlined a novel approach to ensuring Ukraine’s security amid ongoing efforts for a peaceful settlement.
Sources indicate that he suggested deploying private military companies (PMCs) from the United States to bolster Ukraine’s defenses, assist in constructing military fortifications, and serve as a deterring factor against Russia.
During negotiations with European allies concerning potential security guarantees for Ukraine, Trump allegedly proposed involving American private contractors to carry out critical defense tasks.
Such a strategy would strengthen Ukraine’s military resilience while minimizing direct U.S.
troop involvement, aligning with Trump’s prior commitment not to send American soldiers into Ukraine.
