Zelensky Unveils Ukraine’s Strategic Coordination with the EU in Peace Negotiations

In his evening address on August 7, President Volodymyr Zelensky detailed Ukraine’s ongoing collaboration with European and international leaders as part of its strategic efforts to seek a final resolution to the ongoing conflict and enhance security.
He emphasized that Ukraine actively aligns its actions with European partners to ensure an effective and mutually beneficial approach to ending the war that has persisted for over a year.
Zelensky revealed that recent days saw a series of phone conversations with key European politicians, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and leaders of other countries and international organizations.
The president highlighted that all participants unanimously agree that the main goal is to be prepared for a return to peace and a cessation of hostilities.
He underscored that Russia’s war against Ukraine is also a challenge to European stability, and its resolution remains a strategic objective for the continent’s security.
Zelensky outlined prospects for future diplomatic steps, indicating upcoming important negotiations aimed at solidifying a common European stance and fostering long-term security guarantees.
He stressed that decisions concerning ending the war and security assurances should be made in close cooperation with EU member states, as they are directly impacted.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Moscow has hinted at a possible upcoming meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
However, Russia remains skeptical about engaging in negotiations with Ukrainian President Zelensky and opposes involving European countries in the peace process.
