Zelensky Announces Intensification of Diplomatic Efforts in Pursuit of Peace and Stability in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has officially announced the commencement of a series of phone calls and diplomatic contacts with leading global leaders as part of an effort to effectively advance the process of achieving genuine peace in Ukraine.
According to him, negotiations with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz are already scheduled, and regular communication is maintained with leaders in France and Italy.
Zelensky emphasized that these consultations are targeted towards securing Ukraine’s independence regardless of external circumstances.
Additionally, he revealed that together with colleagues from other countries, the Ukrainian government is exploring possibilities for consultations at the level of national security advisors to further strengthen diplomatic pressure on the aggressor.Addressing priority issues, Zelensky stated that the main goal is to stop the killings and mitigate the consequences of the war through open and constructive dialogue.
The next step is to organize a high-level summit between Ukraine and Russia to seek long-term resolution and ensure lasting security.
The president also stressed the importance of long-term security that can be achieved in cooperation with the USA and European partners.Zelensky shared that after recent calls with US President Donald Trump and European leaders, he held conversations with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Finnish President Sauli Niinistö.
He reaffirmed Ukraine’s commitment to peace, emphasizing that the country has never desired war but recognizes the need to increase external pressure and work towards strengthening security.
He stated that world leaders have all the leverage to verify compliance with commitments, and Russia must take concrete steps to end its aggression.
Later that day, Russian aide Yuri Ushakov announced that the location for the scheduled meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin has already been agreed upon, with further details to be announced later.
It is also reported that the US and Russian leaders are expected to hold talks in the coming days to finalize the date and venue of their meeting.
