The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has officially confirmed that a planned meeting with Russian representatives is scheduled for August 6 in Moscow.

According to the leader of the American administration, this diplomatic event has the potential to significantly influence the future US policy regarding sanctions and international relations in the region.

Trump emphasized that decisions regarding future steps will be made after consultations conducted by US Special Envoy Steve Vitkoff with Russian authorities in Moscow.During a press conference, Trump stated: “We have a meeting with Russia tomorrow.

We will see what comes of it.” He added that the war in Ukraine remains a top priority for the US and the most challenging issue they are working on intensively.

The president highlighted that in the past, he managed to resolve other international conflicts within days, such as between India and Pakistan, and he expects results from the upcoming talks that will allow for further measures.Russian state media reports indicate that Vitkoff is already en route to Moscow, where on August 6 he will hold a series of high-level meetings with Kremlin officials.

According to Bloomberg sources, considering Russian officials’ statements, Moscow might consider announcing a “air ceasefire” with Ukraine—a temporary halt to missile and drone strikes—to avoid new US sanctions.

Such a move appears aimed at reducing tensions. At the same time, sources suggest Moscow is not abandoning its strategic goals, which include the full occupation of four Ukrainian regions.

Reuters reports that the Kremlin remains skeptical about the US ultimatum, which expires on August 8, and does not plan to make concessions regarding territorial claims.

The Russian leadership maintains its course toward continuing the war and aims for complete control over Ukrainian territories, refusing to compromise on their territorial ambitions.
