Zelensky Announces New Reforms on Military Awards and Funding for Ukrainian Armed Forces
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky conducted a busy working day during which he signed several crucial decisions aimed at streamlining the military award process and increasing financial support for Ukraine’s defense.
He emphasized that the Ministry of Defense and relevant agencies must swiftly implement digital solutions to eliminate bureaucratic barriers, reducing paperwork and signatures required for awarding soldiers.Zelensky highlighted that current procedures, being overly complicated, delayed recognition for soldiers and complicated their lives.
As a result, he personally ordered to make this process as quick and transparent as possible to ensure soldiers receive their deserved recognition without unnecessary delays.Furthermore, the president instructed to significantly increase direct funding to brigades for the procurement of drones, pickups, and other critical equipment.
He pointed out that the Ukrainian army must have the ability to purchase precisely what it needs in the quickest manner.Additionally, Zelensky discussed plans to expand the military contract program for recruits aged 18 to 24, including possible adjustments to age limits and conditions for signing such agreements.
The Defense Ministry, General Staff, and the Office of the President are tasked with presenting detailed information to the public.Following the meetings initiated during his visit to Kharkiv region, the president opened new opportunities for strengthening Ukraine’s defense capacity and boosting soldiers’ motivation.
He also made an unexpected remark about the presence of foreign mercenaries from China, Pakistan, and African countries near Vovchansk, where active combat is ongoing.Overall, Zelensky’s initiatives aim not only to speed up the award process and improve soldiers’ material support but also to enhance Ukraine’s international military readiness amid ongoing conflict.
