Trump deferred his presidential ambitions: Will he consider a third term in the USA?
Former U.S.
President Donald Trump recently shared his thoughts on the possibility of running for office again.
While expressing a desire to return to the White House, he acknowledged that constitutional restrictions make such an attempt unlikely.
During an interview with CNBC, Trump explicitly stated that “at this moment, probably not.” However, he revealed a strong wish to make a third run for the presidency, citing high approval ratings and public support.
“People love our approval ratings, and they are pleased that the U.S.
is no longer deceived financially by other countries,” he explained.
Legally, the 22nd Amendment to the U.S.
Constitution limits presidents to two terms in office.
Trump is currently serving his second term, which began in January 2017 and ended in January 2021.
Previously, some politicians, such as Republican Andy Ogles, suggested amending the amendment to allow presidents to serve more than two consecutive terms or to run for a third term overall.
Polls indicate that more than half of Americans believe Trump might seek a third presidential bid.
