In the upcoming days, the Ukrainian capital is set to host a significant diplomatic visit as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan plans to arrive in Kyiv at the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

This announcement has been confirmed by Turkish sources, including the Turkish publication Turkiye Gazetesi, citing Ukrainian Ambassador to Ankara, Nariman Jelijal.

According to diplomatic sources, during the visit, key issues on the agenda will include the ratification of the free trade agreement between the two nations, as well as Ankara’s efforts to facilitate a peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict initiated by Russia against Ukraine.

This development is taking place in the context of three rounds of discussions between Kyiv and Moscow held in Istanbul, which have fueled hopes for a swift de-escalation of the conflict.

Erdogan has expressed optimism about the prospects of further negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, aiming for a ceasefire soon.

The Turkish president’s visit is anticipated to be a crucial step toward resolving the conflict and strengthening bilateral relations, especially in trade and security sectors.
