Trump’s Former Adviser Accuses India of Funding Russia’s War Efforts Against Ukraine, Heightening International Tensions
Stephen Miller, a former senior advisor to U.S.
President Donald Trump, has made a controversial statement, accusing India of directly supporting Russian military actions against Ukraine.
According to him, India, a key regional partner, continues to import oil from Moscow, thereby financing the Russian Federation’s war effort despite mounting global pressure and sanctions.
Miller emphasized that India’s imports of Russian oil are nearly on par with China’s, which has shocked the international community.
"It is shocking that such substantial volumes of Russian oil are being purchased almost unabated," he stated.
He also noted that the Trump administration considers this policy unacceptable, highlighting increased pressure on New Delhi to cease energy cooperation with Russia.
Although Miller maintains close personal ties with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he stressed that this does not alter the U.S.
stance on stopping financial support to Russia’s military.
Despite diplomatic efforts, India plans to continue importing oil from Russia but is actively seeking alternative sources such as the United States and the UAE to reduce dependence.
Washington warns that if India persists in purchasing Russian oil, it will face a 100% tariff on goods imported from countries that support Russia’s war against Ukraine.
