Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that the process of exchanging prisoners of war between Ukraine and Russia is in an active phase.
He stated that during recent negotiations in Istanbul on July 23, agreements were reached to exchange 1,200 individuals, including both military personnel and civilians.
Zelensky emphasized that work is currently underway to compile the lists of prisoners to be included in the exchange.
This is a complex and highly responsible process, as it involves returning people home, which requires careful coordination, agreements, and procedures.
Zelensky underlined the Ukrainian side’s commitment to completing the exchange as quickly as possible so that all prisoners can reunite with their families.
