Zelensky Announces Ambitious Plan for Full Integration of Ukraine’s Air Forces with NATO
In a recent statement, President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized Ukraine’s strategic goal of achieving complete and effective integration of its Air Forces with NATO.
During Ukraine’s Air Force Day celebrations, the President awarded servicemen and engaged in discussions concerning further development and modernization of aviation units.
Zelensky highlighted that Ukrainian Air Forces are receiving advanced combat equipment from France, including new F-16 fighter jets, and that recent steps have been approved to deploy new platforms and incorporate foreign technologies into the defense system.
The President underscored that the strategic development plan not only involves acquiring new weaponry but also training personnel for effective utilization.
He stressed that strengthening cooperation with NATO is crucial for bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities, reducing vulnerabilities, and increasing its role in European security.
As part of preparing for future challenges, Zelensky held a meeting with the Air Force command and Ministry of Defense officials to discuss long-term military aviation development strategies and the implementation of plans to synchronize Western technology and pilot training.
It is also noteworthy that in August, Zelensky appointed Lieutenant General Anatoly Kryvonozhko as commander of Ukraine’s Air Forces following a year without an official leader for this military branch.
