Zelensky Denies Russian Disinformation Claim of Temporarily Occupying Chasiv Yar

Chas Pravdy - 31 July 2025 21:49

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his evening address on July 31, provided a detailed update on the situation at the front lines, vehemently dismissing the Russian disinformation claiming the occupation of the strategic district center of Chasiv Yar.
According to Zelensky, Ukrainian troops continue to hold their positions and successfully repel any enemy attempts to break through.
He emphasized that reports of the capture of Chasiv Yar are simply another example of Russian misinformation aimed at demoralizing Ukrainians and inciting panic.
The head of state assured that Ukrainian armed forces are maintaining their front line, especially in the Pokrovsk direction, where fierce fighting persists.
Additionally, he stated that Ukrainian defenders are destroying Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups as well as small enemy units attempting to breach into Ukrainian cities, establish themselves, and destabilize the region.
Zelensky highlighted that these false reports are part of Russia’s tactics, and Ukrainian soldiers respond with resilient resistance.
He reiterated that Ukrainian units heroically defend their homeland and are repelling all enemy attempts to advance in Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, and other critical regions.
