Senator Graham Responds to Kremlin’s Bold Claim of ‘Immunity’ from Sanctions: Trump Is Changing the Rules of the Game

Chas Pravdy - 30 July 2025 19:37

American Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has delivered a strong response to the recent statement from the Kremlin, which claimed that Russia has achieved a form of 'immunity' from current sanctions.
Graham advised Russia to reach out to the countries that purchase its oil and gas, urging them to clarify their stance on Moscow's self-assured approach and assess their level of support.
According to him, despite Russia's claims of immunity, it has, over years of experience, learned to adapt and withstand international sanctions.
However, Graham emphasized that the current U.S.
President Donald Trump is taking measures that fundamentally alter the geopolitical playing field.
He pointed out that Trump plans to impose new tariffs on nations that support Russia’s military machine by buying its oil and gas, which could serve as a warning to these countries to reconsider their policies and not bolster Kremlin's ambitions.
Graham further stated that most members of Congress, regardless of party affiliation, are ready to support the president’s initiatives to increase pressure on Russia to protect American interests and uphold global stability.
In this context, Trump's new policies are poised to significantly shift Russia’s behavior on the international stage.
