Fragile Ukrainian Statehood: What Awaits the Country in the Near Future?

Chas Pravdy - 30 July 2025 17:46

The delicate foundation of Ukrainian political stability and society is beginning to crack under the pressure of internal and external challenges.
For a long time, President Volodymyr Zelensky has been walking a fine line on the thin ice dividing stability from chaos.
Recent events point to a deep crisis within the governance system, corruption scandals, кадрові перевороти, and a rapidly declining public trust in authorities.
After the parliament adopted Bill №12414, which stripped independent agencies like NABU and SAP from their autonomy, Ukraine risks losing Western financial aid crucial for its economic stability and anti-corruption efforts.
This jeopardizes international support and creates preconditions for internal destabilization.
The political elite, oscillating between conflicts, trades, and games, is increasingly unable to respond effectively to today’s challenges.
Internal power struggles, political corruption, and dependency on external influences threaten Ukraine’s independence.
What is the way forward? The country's future depends on leadership's ability to overcome internal barriers and unite efforts to preserve democracy, rule of law, and international backing.
This is not just political wrestling but a question of survival for Ukraine as a sovereign state amidst chaos and geopolitical pressures.
