Chas Pravdy - 29 July 2025 02:04

Former U.S.
President Donald Trump has made a bold statement, acknowledging that the humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached critical levels, and publicly recognizing the occurrence of widespread hunger within the enclave.
In his remarks, he called on Israeli authorities to allow access to the sector with every ounce of food, aiming to prevent further civilian casualties.
Trump emphasized that a change in tactics and approach to resolving the crisis is necessary, citing that human lives, especially children, are currently at risk due to starvation. During a press conference at the Turnberry golf club in Scotland, where he met with UK Prime Minister Kira Starmer, the politician expressed deep concern about the situation in Gaza.
He highlighted the need for the international community to act decisively and proposed the creation of special humanitarian corridors to facilitate the unimpeded delivery of food and medicine.
Trump stated that the United States, along with allies, is working on this initiative, although specifics are still under development. Furthermore, he pointed out that the region's complexity is exacerbated by Hamas's refusal to free hostages, calling this organization one of the most difficult for negotiations.
Trump recalled that the U.S.
and its allies are exerting pressure on Israeli authorities to change their approaches to handling the crisis.
UK Prime Minister Kira Starmer confirmed that her government is deeply concerned about the humanitarian disaster in Gaza and is engaged in discussions with the European Union and Jordan to strengthen humanitarian efforts and establish a sustainable ceasefire.
The government plans to hold an emergency meeting to discuss possible measures, including the participation of the Royal Air Force in delivering food and medical supplies. Additionally, major human rights organizations such as B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights have publicly declared that Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and place responsibility on Western allies, urging immediate intervention to prevent further humanitarian catastrophe.
