Poland Announces Detention of 32 Suspected Collaborators with Russian Intelligence and Planning Diversions

Chas Pravdy - 29 July 2025 20:53

Poland is currently engaged in a broad crackdown on potential threats stemming from Russia.
Recent reports confirm that law enforcement agencies have detained a total of 32 individuals suspected of organizing acts of sabotage and attacks within the country, which authorities believe were ordered by Russian intelligence services.
Among those detained, one individual has already received a court sentence, while the remaining suspects await legal proceedings.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Tuesday that citizens of Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Colombia are among those apprehended, illustrating the extensive network involved in such activities.
This development underscores ongoing concerns about Russian efforts to destabilize the region, regardless of the current situation in Ukraine or the outcome of the war.
All major international alliances, including NATO and the United States, regard these threats as serious and persistent.
Poland has also urged its citizens to leave Russian territory immediately, citing increased risks of further sabotage or attacks orchestrated by Russian agents.
Additionally, Tusk confirmed that one of the coordinators of these diversions has been captured and is now in Polish custody, available for investigation by prosecutors and security agencies.
These developments are compounded by earlier revelations from Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW), which accused a 27-year-old Colombian of setting fire to warehouses in Warsaw and Radom last year.
The incidents, which caused significant damage, were linked by authorities to espionage activities aimed at destabilizing Poland and sowing chaos in the region.
The security services deem these actions as attempts to ignite further violence and undermine stability, posing a continual challenge for Polish and allied security forces.
