Trump Sets New Deadline for Vladimir Putin: 10 to 12 Days to Achieve Peace in Ukraine

Chas Pravdy - 28 July 2025 17:32

Former U.S.
President Donald Trump made a surprising statement regarding Russia’s future actions amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
According to him, Moscow is given a new, shortened window of approximately 10 to 12 days to demonstrate the ability to negotiate and achieve meaningful progress towards resolving the conflict.
Trump announced this during a meeting with British Prime Minister Kiro Starmer in Thorneberi, Scotland, emphasizing that the lack of any signs of diplomatic progress leaves him no choice but to believe that time is running out.
"We can no longer afford to wait endlessly," Trump stated.
"It would be cruel to expect someone to abandon their desperate stance within 50 days, but reality shows otherwise — there are no breakthroughs." Known for his criticism of Putin's actions, Trump has expressed profound disappointment with the situation in Ukraine.
This suggests that the previously set deadline of 50 days for reaching any results might be shortened.
Earlier this month, Trump threatened Moscow with imposing extremely high tariffs—up to 100%—on Russian goods if no peace agreement is reached within this period.
This underscores the seriousness of U.S.
intentions to increase economic pressure to end the conflict through diplomatic and sanctions means.
