Public organizations and media demand reinstatement of Verkhovna Rada sessions broadcasting to ensure transparency and accountability
In today’s political landscape, open access to the workings of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada has become crucial for building public trust in national institutions.
Over fifty civic organizations and media representatives have united in calling for the resumption of live online broadcasts of parliamentary plenary sessions on the official channel “Rada” and for the advance publication of agenda items.
This isn’t merely a technical issue; it is a vital component of democratic transparency, enabling citizens to observe decision-making processes in real time and to see how deputies vote and publicly state their positions.

According to credible experts and signatories, transparency in parliament’s activities is the foundation of public trust, especially during times of heightened political tension and significant legislative decisions, such as laws related to anti-corruption reforms and the independence of NABU and SAP.
These decisions impact internal policy, foreign relations, and Ukraine’s support on the international stage.
Given the importance of these issues, society should have the right to monitor the decision-making process in real time, understanding how deputies vote and what positions they publicly declare.
The signatories emphasize that transparency and openness are essential for fostering trust in the parliament.
They urge the immediate return of televised sessions starting from the next plenary meeting, and their initiative remains open for public signing and support.
