Zelensky’s Cautiously Optimistic Statement: The War Could End as Early as Next Year

Chas Pravdy - 26 July 2025 22:49

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a significant statement regarding the prospects of ending the ongoing conflict within Ukraine.
According to him, next year could become a turning point in this prolonged struggle, as all diplomatic and economic efforts are aimed at exhausting Russia's military capabilities and stopping the war.
Zelensky pointed out that the effectiveness of international sanctions imposed on Russia and its affiliates is already evident.
These sanctions are causing substantial economic damage to the aggressor country, and over time, these losses will only escalate.
The president emphasized that global support and efforts are focused on increasing pressure on Russia to achieve a swift resolution.
He called on all partners to unite and coordinate their actions so that the conflict can be officially concluded next year.
Zelensky also noted ongoing diplomatic activities, including active negotiations with foreign intelligence agencies and international partners.
He highlighted that the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council has been tasked with accelerating the attraction of international financial resources for drone production and modern military equipment.
Furthermore, the government and the Ministry of Defense have received instructions to verify all agreements made with international partners to ensure full implementation.
Zelensky stressed that promises must be fully fulfilled, and he awaits official reports on progress in the coming days.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, the situation on the Pavlohrad direction remains tense but Ukrainian forces are successfully resisting, inflicting losses on the enemy.
The president also addressed a series of Russian attacks over the past day, which affected energy infrastructure in Sumy and civilian infrastructure in cities like Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Donetsk region.
He thanked rescuers, medical personnel, and emergency services for their rapid response, assuring that every Russian strike will be countered.
Zelensky also mentioned the possibility of a meeting between leaders, which could take place shortly, as Russia signals readiness for negotiations.
Such a meeting might mark the beginning of the end of the ongoing conflict.
