The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has taken a significant step towards strengthening the country's anti-corruption framework by setting a specific date for the consideration of President Volodymyr Zelensky's bill, aimed at guaranteeing the independence of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO).
The upcoming session is scheduled for July 31, 2025, and its main objective will be to review and approve legislative amendments designed to enhance the autonomy of anti-corruption agencies and elevate their credibility to a new level.
According to the Speaker of Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, during the session, there are plans to vote on adopting the presidential bill No.
13533 in its entirety and as a basis, as well as to support its immediate signing.
In addition, the Verkhovna Rada will consider other important legislative initiatives aimed at combating corruption and strengthening the legal framework of the country.
This decision has sparked widespread discussions among the public and political circles, as its implementation will influence the independence of Ukrainian anti-corruption bodies and public trust in the judicial and law enforcement systems.
