Trump’s Lowest Approval Rating During His Second Term: Only 37% of Americans Approve of His Performance — New Poll Data

Chas Pravdy - 25 July 2025 12:49

Recent Gallup survey results have revealed a new low in Donald Trump’s approval ratings during his second term as President.
Only 37% of American adults currently express approval of his job performance, marking a significant decline from previous months when support was at 40% in June, 43% in May, and 44% in April.
Overall, since his inauguration in January, his approval ratings have dropped by 10 percentage points, indicating a troubling trend for the former president.
The decline is especially sharp among independent voters, with only 29% supporting him now — a 7-point decrease from June and 17 points below the level support he had in January.
Poll analysts point out that many Americans are dissatisfied with Trump's handling of foreign policy issues, particularly his approach towards Russia.
Support among Republicans remains high at 89%, a figure that has remained stable since his return to the White House.
Conversely, Democratic support is minimal, with only 2% approving of his presidency.
Overall, 41% of American adults hold a positive view of Trump’s work, compared to 48% in January.
The survey was conducted from July 7 to 21 among 1,002 adults, with a margin of error of ±4%.
Experts indicate growing public concern over Trump’s efforts to retain power, which is further supported by recent polling from Reuters/Ipsos.
An earlier Economist/YouGov survey showed that 55% of Americans disapprove of how Trump is managing his presidential duties, with only 41% expressing approval.
The continuous decline in his approval ratings suggests deepening political discontent that could impact his future political prospects.
